SlimWiki Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours! — is a big deal to us. We’ll only ever access your account to help you with a problem or squash a software bug. We’ll never open any uploaded files unless you ask us to. We log all access to all accounts by IP address, so we can always verify that no unauthorized access has happened for as long as the logs are kept.

Identity & Access

When you sign up for SlimWiki, we ask for your name, company name, and email address. That’s just so you can personalize your new account, and we can send you invoices, updates, or other essential information. We’ll never sell your personal info to third parties, and we won’t use your name or company in marketing statements without your permission, either.

When you write SlimWiki with a question or to ask for help, we’ll keep that correspondence, and the email address, for future reference. When you browse our marketing pages, we’ll track that for statistical purposes (like conversion rates and to test new designs). We also store any information you volunteer, like surveys, for as long as it makes sense.

The only times we’ll ever share your info:

  • To provide products or services you’ve requested, with your permission.
  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by law.
  • If SlimWiki is acquired by or merged with another company — we don’t plan on that, but if it happens — we’ll notify you well before any info about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate SlimWiki. Each is chosen carefully and handles only the minimum data necessary:

Stripe processes all payment transactions. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe receives your payment card details, billing address, and email. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.

PostHog provides product analytics. We use it to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. PostHog collects anonymized usage data such as page views, feature usage, and browser type. We do not use PostHog to track you across other websites.

Cookies & Tracking

SlimWiki uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to function, such as keeping you signed in. We also use analytics cookies via PostHog to understand how the Service is used. We do not use advertising cookies or share cookie data with ad networks.

Law Enforcement

SlimWiki won’t hand your data over to law enforcement unless a court order says we have to. We flat-out reject requests from local and federal law enforcement when they seek data without a court order. And unless we’re legally prevented from it, we’ll always inform you when such requests are made.

Encryption

All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. The database backups are also encrypted. Data isn’t encrypted while it’s live in our database (since it needs to be ready to send to you when you need it), but we go to great lengths to secure your data at rest.

Data Retention Policy

We retain your data for a maximum of 30 days after you cancel your account. During this period, anything you delete while your account is active will be stored in a trash can and may be recovered. However, once you cancel your account, we will ensure that nothing is stored on our servers past the 30-day mark. After this period, all data will be permanently deleted from our systems.

Data Archival/Removal Policy

We do not archive your data beyond the 30-day retention period. Once you delete your data or cancel your account, we will promptly remove it from our systems permanently.

Data Storage Policy

Your data is stored securely and encrypted to protect it from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We prioritize your data’s security. We do not share your data with any third parties without your explicit consent, except as outlined in the Third-Party Services section above.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. You can do most of this directly from your account settings. If you need help or want to make a request you can’t handle yourself, contact us at support@slimwiki.com and we’ll take care of it promptly. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes & Questions

SlimWiki may update this policy occasionally. We’ll notify you about significant changes by emailing the account owner or by placing a prominent notice on our site. You can access, change or delete your personal information at any time by contacting support@slimwiki.com.
